Smoke on Smoke Margarita
Smoke on Smoke

So mezcal has become very popular lately. A lot of people think it is the same as tequila, and it
is made from the same plant, but in a different process. This process gives it a very smoky taste
that can take some getting used to. This drink uses a combination of tequila and mescal to kind
of “ease you” into the smoky mescal taste. Feel free to adjust the proportions of tequila and
mescal to your liking.
Smoked sea salt (I bought a brand called Maldon and ground it up to make it finer)
2 1/2 ounces reposado tequila
3/4 ounce mescal
1/2 ounce agave syrup
juice of 1/2 lime
Wet the rim of a rocks glass (use water or the lime wedge), put the salt on a plate and dip the
rim of the glass into the salt, add ice cubes to the glass.
In a shaker…combine tequila, mescal, agave and lime…
shake maybe 5 times to combine and chill.
Strain and pour over ice
