Watermelon Jalapeño Mint Margarita

This is super refreshing on a hot summer day! Make the watermelon juice in your blender and
store in the refrigerator for a couple of days.

2 slices, seeded jalapeno
5-6 fresh mint leaves
1/2 ounce simple syrup
wedge of lime, squeezed
2 ounces fresh watermelon juice*
2 ounces reposado tequila
coarse salt
lime zest

Prepare your glass:
Mix lime zest with coarse salt on a plate. Wet the edge of a rocks glass with lime, dip in salt and
zest mixture.
In a shaker muddle jalapeno, mint, simple syrup and lime. Add juice, tequila and ice cubes.
Shake, shake, shake! No need to strain, just pour into the prepared rocks glass!
Fresh Watermelon Juice
2 cups fresh cubed watermelon
Kosher salt
Puree watermelon cubes in a blender until liquid. Add a pinch of kosher salt. Store in
refrigerator. Makes about 1 1/2 cups juice.
Can be made 2 days ahead.
